. I live a few hours south of Washington DC and drive a 2006 Cooper S with 210hp factory Works kit and Checkmate package. It is Astro Black with silver roof and mirrors, silver U stripe on the bonnet, and the Space Blue and silver interior. This is my 3rd new MINI as I had a silver/black 2002 Cooper and a silver/black 2003 Cooper S also with the Works kit dealer installed. My 2006 also has the LSD and big front brakes.In Sept 2004, I visited the MINI factory in Cowley...............went into the "secret room" next to where the tours start and saw many remaining Classic Minis just sitting there...........so since then I have wanted to buy one of those. I went to JCG (met Mike Cooper!) which was wonderful. We also rented 2 RHD Coopers from a place in Winchester and drove all over England for a week......went to Stonehenge, the motoring museum at Beaulieu, etc. It was fantastic!
I am looking for a very nice, original classic Mini to bring to the States, preferably a 2001 Cooper Sport Final 50 edition with the 90hp Works conversion and signed JC certificate. Because of our import laws, I can now import one of those OR of course one of the older models 1982 or older which I'd love to own just the same. If anyone knows of any for sale, please let me know!
