And anyway, the original question was about a GRP front, so yes, get some brace bars on there mister! Also, get solid bushes on your towers and perhaps consider uprated rear mounts (you can get poly ones from the likes of deflex or you could go for solid ones, though they are perhaps a little harsh)??

personally, i would use brace bars anyway as its a peace of mind thing. it just makes the subframe that much more solid. i wouldnt think twice about doing it to a fibreglass one. i would also look at a way of making it a bit stronger aswell by bracing from 1 bar to another, but removable so the engine can be accessed properly. just my 5 pence worth tho!

When you flip, the cover panels provide no structural integrity to the car, whether made of plastic, carbon, steel or cardboard...

When all welded together the front of the subframe is mounted to the valance not the inner wing, and in combination with the wing and inner wing makes a sort of box construction.

I would not want to be in a front end smash in a flipped mini with no bracing on the front of the subframe...
