hi i have a mini mayfair which my brother got me recently. the car failed its MOT and one of the points said... offside rear (valance) subframe mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded. to me thats sounds realy bad. i have no idea what work would be involved to repair this. can anybody help me please

Sounds to me as if your boot floor pan has rusted away round sub mounting holes you will have to remove subframe and repair mounting hole with a repaie panel from www.bmh-ltd.com.......good luck...............

o realy, hmmm well my dad can weld but he has an electric welder, would that do? would you have any idea if the subframe it self is corroded beacause im not sure. ive not had time to check the car as im at college every day and come home in the evening. o and thanks for the information people

If the MOT says that it is the mounting area then that will mean the car itself, but if it dosent say corrosion on the subframe then you should be fine, but you will need to check it, If your dad has a MIG welder then that should be fine for the job

ok thanks i will do, il check it on the weekend and let u guys know. as for the welder i have no idea what type it is, il find that out too
