Bought a clarke CES500A engine stand today but I cant see how it is meant to fix to the engine. I have 4 arms coming from the stand, which I believe you bolt to the engine block.

Has anyone done this before? Do I need to make myself an engine mounting plate?

Ta!

yeah - the stand needs adapting so that the A series block bolts onto it sideways.

Use a drill to make the necessary holes in the clark adapter and bolt it onto where the oil filter housing goes...

Most people drill a couple of holes in the back plate the arms are attached to and mount the block to it by either the mech fuel pump holes the alternator mounting bracket mounting holes or the oil filter holes

Aye, I mounted mine via the fuel pump fittings.

Takes two 5/16th UNC on fuel pump UNF on alt.
