ok asking a silly question here but anyone know where i can get a sheet of ali from to make a dash or does anyone know of a co the makes them pre cut (being lazy)

Around here we have a metal scrapyard that always has bits of sheet aluminium in, they usually have decent amounts of treadplate in too. Maybe have a look in your phone book for scrapyards and stuff.

Also have a look at your local tip, dad came home the other day with a couple of sheets of copper that some Idiot had tried to dump. All it cost was a couple of quid for the dodgy guy that works there to look away while he climbed into the container to get them.

A friend of mine recently got a sheet of stainless steel from round the back of a food factory, all their machines are covered in the stuff and they usually leave pretty large panels lying around. He cut it out/screwed it to some wood, and it really does look cool on his dash. Dont get caught though.

Yeah i have a 6ftx3ft chunk of thick stainless that i found outside allders after a drunken night out!! and its been with me ever since, surviving 2 house moves inthe hope that some day ill actually use it!

Cir, hehe thats so fuuny as you wouldnt believe the things ive come home with after a few drinks, lol.
I can hardly get my garage door closed for all the stuff Ive collected. Im the same as you, I cant throw anything away, it always has a use, I just havent thought of it yet.
