i've just got a mark 1 bootlid which needs a new 't' handle, i was also thinking of fitting mark 1 door handles.
my mini is a 1982 model (mark 3 i think), will mark 1 door handles fit?

what is the difference? is it only mark 3/4 handles that will fit?

ye only mk3 onwards will fit. the mk1/2 uses a totaly different lock, which wont fit in with winding windows without a lot of modification, as there isnt enough room.

The picture below shows the difference in the mk1 lock.

No it won't fit, completely different design.

a guy from germany did it, his car was featured in miniworld, he still had wind up windows, he used a bike inner-tube to get the mk3 interior handle to work with the mk1 exterior handle.
