Hi Lads,

I have recentley bought anotherr little min.
I'm told that this one has a 1310cc engine. First of all can you get pistons that increse the engine size to 1310? I thought the next step up was to 1340cc but i may be wrong.
Also i'm guessing that it has a non standard diff. As it really is quite quick down in the lower gears but top end at 4th it really struggels to get to 65mph. Is there a diff number that i can identify it stamped on the outside? This leads me on to my next question. The speedo drive. Do you get different drives for different engines? The speedo on this car wanders a bit and i am uncertain its telling me the truth! The car sarted life witha 998cc.

Any ideas would be graet

Ta

1312 is a +40 rebore

Yes you can get different speedo drivegear to suit different diffs and wheel sizes. The gearing inside the speedo itself can vary too. Check out guesswork's site for more info.

Speedos aren't that accurate within 10% is legally acceptable I believe. Using an aftermarket bike or cycle computer would be the easiest way to get a reliable idea.

Quck check if standard box and drop gears is put in 4th and push forward (or back) one roadwheel revolution. The crank will turn 3.44 times for 3.44 diff etc.
