I need to ask a favour from one of the BT engineers I know are on this forum - basically I need a steel keyboard as used on the TTY / text payphones or public internet terminals ( Marconi NET 800 (Neptune 800) or similar model - yes, I know it's leased... but ther must be a trashed one somewhere....). I belive there are prolly a few early BT 'Payphone 2000' model based text payphones (ie, the type used by deaf people) that are due replacement / scrapped about now, so if you can get hold of - or know some one who works in the stores, and is able to get hold of these, then I would be gratefull of any help. A deal can be done. :gimme:

Damaged / faulty keyboards are acceptable, as long as all the keys are there - or at least enough spare parts to make up the keys. Keys are the MAIN item I'm after, but a complete keyboard would be MUCH easier for me. I would prefer if the keys are still in reasonable condition (no chunks missing or huge deep scratches), but *ANYTHING* will do.

Nothing underhand - I just need steel (stainless?) keys for a keyboard mod I'm in the process of making - and these will fit the bill nicely. :)

I'm *not* asking for stolen items, just stuff that is due to be scrapped!, and is no longer needed. Don't risk jobs here! If it's going in the bin, and it's not going to be a problem - then send it my way.

Any model phone keyboard will do, and I only need the keyboard section - nothing else (though a wiring diagram might be nice...). :o

PM me with replies.

Cheers.

I can't help with this one I'm afraid... even if I could get my hands on some old payphone bits, if they're off payphones around here they'd probably be covered in *yellow human water* and have most of the buttons missing :D

but thems make a lot of smoke and a lot of noise too if i remember.. had a bit of a lesson about them when i was doing my a-levels.

Hardly the attention you need when your borrow parts of a public phone box.

if you want to do it properly we have a still saw and a diamond coated blade... :ermm: :)
