Its a dvd head unit with flip out screen so wouldn't be much use down in a centre console. I am gonna change it for a 3 + 3 but I just want to know ho easy it would be to do. How much re wiring etc

I think you can be special wiring looms themselves for converting to 3 clock dash

http://minisport.com...ring_Looms.html
'Dash conversion wiring loom - Centre to Side binnacle'

or i suppose you could just hack the bits needed from a scrap mini with a 3 clock dash!

Thanks Dribble >_< The dashboard looks much better when the head unit is removed to somewhere else. The speaker pods look way better in that picture that they really are. It has been my aim for at least 2-3 years to finish the pods as those look awful from close. Sound and work great but look is just too bulky... perhaps next winter I have time to finish those.. lol

However, to answer the question... ideally you need part of the front loom of a later model, and splice this into the existing loom, therfore providing the necessary connections required for the triple clock arrangement

Good decision - it is no longer possible to get the correct crimp terminals for the plug that goes in the back of the pcb-type dashes, meaning that you will be forced to splice all of the dash connections somehow - not pretty, and also not mentioned on that minisport site as far as I can see
