Hi, right i've got this mini with the turbo engine but HOW do i turn the boost up??? its got a intercooler but a standerd head and block. im thinking about have the head moded for lower compression by MORSPEED, will i then beable to run higher boost???~

Boost is controlled by your wastegate which lives inside the turbo.

It is controlled by an acautator... the std one limits the boost to 4.5psi.

You can "trick" the acatuator by leaking off some of the boost signal... what you are doing is fooling it in to opening later and so allowing the turbo to produce more boost.... to do this you need a bleed valve.

The other way is to fit a different acatuator which opens the waste gate at a higher pressure.

Or of course a combination of both!!

i won`t run too much boost even with intercooler , say 6psi .get the C/r down to say 8.5ish/1 and then turn it up , but RR first are it could all go BANG

It will run 7 psi as thats std with out the ECU...

WIth an intercooler... maybe 8 but you need to get the CR down!

im still deciding if i will keep the car, if i do ill put a new gear box on, lower the CR fit a dump valve and bleed valve to up the boost.

lived here all my life. so 20yrs had my mini for comming on 4yrs.m i live on outwoods road if u know it.
