PROJECT: MAYFAIR VAUXHALL

Edit: DOH! I did the title wrong how do you change that?

I'm sorry about the lack of pictures the begin with, I'v done abit too her first without taking pictures (DOH!) But they'll start to appear very soon!

The basic low down is... I'm doing a full shell strip down to start with, then building her up to spec when she goes back together (along with the new Vauxhall C16XE engine)

Here she is as I got her...

Since then (no pictures sorry!) Iv removed nearly all of the front end, the interior (apart from the dash), the boot lid and both doors. I have attarked the outta sill abit as well, but gave up for the time being... She now looks like this...

Next post I'll make sure its a step by step process of how to fully prep a door and prime it :)

This will prolly be up tomoz, as I'm at college and they dont mind us bringing stuff in to do in lessons.

Right!

Got abit done to her over the weekend, friday night (even tho it snowed, was blowing a gale and thrashing it down) We got the front subframe off complete with engine

First we took the remaining front panels off

Sorry about the quality of the photo, and the lack of them!

We got 3/4 of the way through getting the engine and sub out when a fellow TMF member arrived to look at the engine (I'ed put it up for sale the night before on here) and Nick being the legend he is, kindly helped us finish the engine and sub removal and then helped separate the engine from the sub... and so we where left with this! My thanks goes out to Nick, he was a huge hand on Friday night! Hope the engines good for you mate!

Then on Sunday (Friday night killed me abit! so I had a break Saturday, and gave my battered and bleeding hands chance to recover!) So Sunday we took the rear subframe out and a few other bits and bobs

Before we could start work tho... we had abit of tidying up to do!

Posted Image

Anyone for spag-bol? lol!

Posted Image

Was like this for awile, the rear sub bolts did not wanner come without a fight!

Posted Image

After much knuckle wacking, swearing and cups of tea... it came off!
ooops you can see all the oil on the drive in this picture, im gonner get told off again ;D

Posted Image

So far then Iv more or less stripped the shell!

Posted Image

I'm not posing :w00t: I was seeing how heavy the shell was!

More to come soon, will get some pics of my doors up as well, their now prep'ed and primed ready for color when the rest of the car is!
