Don't ask why but I'm looking at considering hiring a luxury car for me and my better half's birthdays in April...

This was brought on by some chavs who live opposite somehow managing to bring home a big '06 reg Bentley  and wheel spinning it up the street, I was impressed until a few seconds later when I could smell the burning rubber in my living room :ermm:

Anyway I've been looking at Luxury Car Hire but you have to be over 30 for most of them... you even have to be over 25 to hire a Bini Cooper S :) not that I'd even bother with one of those anyway..

Sooo. I'm after a modern, quality car something like a Bentley, Rolls, or even a sports car, what's my chances?
I'm 21

Has anyone done it and where did they hire it from?

Cheeeers!

There was a thread about this on TA today actually...

....from what we found out, most (Astons, Ferraris, Bentleys and the like) are £500+ per day with a low (think 100, 200) mileage limit.

Plus a deposit in the £2k+ field.

Oh dear :) I'd be prepared to spend around £200, can't afford a deposit of anywhere near as much as that, I'd have to sell both my kidneys and probably my arms :ermm:

One of those red letter day type things?

If not do what I sometimes do ... book a half-day off work, go into a dealership all suited & booted, wave your virtual willy around a bit, and then blag yourself a long test drive :)

Nah, those aren't good at all. Went on one myself, it was alright, got to drive a scooby up an airfield but.. well it just wasn't as fun as expected.

I want a proper one to drive about myself on real roads

That might be a good idea, I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face though :ermm:

Plus if I turn up in a "rough around the edges" yellow Mini I won't look to be the most affluent of people :)

True true lol. Last one I had as an Ibiza FR (1.9 TD) ... surprisingly very quick, and I was getting 60-62mpg cruising on the motorway at 80!

PS: Offtopic, where did you get the brackets for your spots from?

There are no brackets :D

Take the front bumper off, drill a couple of holes in the seam, bolt them on with the supplied fixings!

The age thing is an issue, being my 30th today my GF gave me a voucher to hire an immaculate Triumph TR6 for three days from a place in Devon this year. That's a proper cool car that I've wanted to own for a long time now and I have very nearly bought one a couple of times. The only problem is a minter costs around £30,000. Still we'll have one for a long weekend holiday and that's good enough for now.
