Does any one know where to get the 6*9 Subs from? I have had a look on the net but can not see anyone that sells them.
This is to go in my pickup!
What I currenly have is a pair of infinity 5" components mounted on the floor pointing up, near the wheel arch's. I also have a pair of old 4" jbl's mounted in the kick plates of the door pockests ( remember MK1/2 style doors and pockets)
Then a 12" Sub mounted under the load bay on the passenger side of the car, i.e where the spare wheel should live
I then have a 4 channel amp running the sub and good infinity speakers
The problem is that the bass is not ideal as the sub is in a C**p place!
SO what I have done is remove the 4"jbl with a thought of mounting a 6*9 sub there instead.
Then remove the 12" sub and have the amp run these 6*9's instead.
For now I am planning on using Some old 6*9's that I have to get the mountings sorted but I wil need the actual speakers soon.
What I have in mind is to box the top of the big pockets in creating a bass box out of the pocket. I was thinking of leaving a small section of it useable so the pockets are not all wasted.
Has anyone else done anything like this??? Or got any thoughts on the ideas?
Thanks
Mike

www.caraudiodirect.co.uk do the genny 6x9 subs, remember that they are subs so need to be run in an enclosure. As for them subs in the rear bins, i really like that

I have also got a pair of 6x9 genesis subs sitting together with a profile 2 amp waiting to be put in.. I am thinking of sticking them under the rear seat in an enclosure - what do you people think about it? is there enough space for them there? I am complete rubbish with these things so if anyone can recommend a good place/person who could an install like this (or just the enclosure..), I'd appreciate that. I am in London but I like driving my mini anyway so would travel far for this if needed.
Sidebins at the back does seem like a very neat idea.. but I am still hoping to stick the amps in there (I've another 2-channel amp to power the front speakers..) Otherwise they would have to go in the boot..

the chances are that there is not enough air... there should be a specification sheet with them that tells you the volume of air needed... this is general with subs. But being 6x9's the chances are they are "free air" like most speakers this means that they sould work with any amount of air behind them and so you would be able to mount them anywhere
