Any Landy owners in here?
I'm buying a new defender 110, just going through the paper work.
What is the difference between a Tow Ball and a Tow Pintel??

thin ka tow ball is the normal ball you get on every car and a pintel is something like where you put a round cirkel from the trailer true a bar thats on the car.

So it only matters on what type is on the trailer.
Ball probably the way to go then.

Is it like ball for normal trailer, pintel for car trailer? or anything crazy like that?
Because i'd obviously looking for capacity to trailer my beloved mini.

A tow ball is usually for the normal 50mm ball connections, as fitted to 99% of all caravans, small
trailers etc. (this image has a jaw underneath too)

A tow pintle pretty much the same as a NATO hitch, only smaller

(google is your friend here by the way!
)
Oh yeah, trailer sizes. I'm not sure what weight the 50mm is rated up to, but I know that most caravans, in the UK anyway, run with 50mm ball hitches. Larger trailers tend to have larger hitches, but you'd need to investigate the individual trailer really. Dan is typing as I am so he may have a better answer!!

you can change the kind of towing hitch you have on a landy pretty easily tho....
We have two in the household and two different set ups. most 'domestic' trailers use the ball type but if you want to lug stuff around, you can pick up an ex MOD trailer at a land rover show for anything from about £100
they literally just bolt on and off, its about a 15min job to change them, and theyre not hard to come by at a show or on ebay.
