I got my block painted today!
I didnt take a pic before, but this gives you an idea the state it was in, this is the back too, which was cleaner than the front!!

All cleaned up!

First coat:

second/third coat!

I think it might need another coat, but ill see tomorrow
Also took a picture of all my engine in bits! So many pieces

I also have some good news! The guy doing the engine is going to get it measured up this weekend and then taken to be machined, machining should only take 1-2 days, then its all being rebuild!
Thats all for now!

Fingers crossed eh!

Looking Fabb Sarah
Boris,s engine looks just as dirty dispite it being about 8 years newer
The all Black engines hide the dirt the best, the Green ones next best, after that i reckon its Red(like Boris) and the ones that show the dirt the most are Yellow
Though they do look fabb once there all cleaned up
Seeing yours i really want to do Boris,s now but i dont want to have his engine taken out
Best doing the paint while its out you will be glad you did
Dont worry soon lily will be back on the road and this time She will have a Shiny Engine

Every time i open the Bonnet On Boris i shut it quick because hes soo dirty
because hes injection thats lots of gizmos that can get wet
i want to degrease and paint it but that puts me off
I do wonder if the paints still ok under all that muck? but i guess if i get it clean i may as well paint it too
You may of just given me the enthusiasm to do it?

I was quite surprised how nice the paint was underneath all the muck, I thought it would have just been metal, but the paint seemed quite intact, albeit a little faded!
If you do it use brake and clutch cleaner, thats what I used and it worked a treat

What do I do with them then?!
They are the three round plug thingys on the engine Sarah

They are designed to kinda blow out of your engines gunna blow( a bit like an engine fuse
Depending on your rebuild the engine builder will either leave them in if they are ok or replace them anyway so check incase hes replacing them before you go getting any extra
