Another boring but factual bit:

Your engine was made by pouring hot runny iron in to sand moulds, so the solid, sandy, bits were where the gaps are now, 'n the solid iron bits were once fresh air. The core plugs fill the holes where the bits of sand were held together by "cores". If they dip your engine to clean it (probably not since you've already painted it?) they'll remove and replace the plugs. Even if it doesn't get dipped it'd be worthwhile cleaning out the oil galleries

Lilys engine hasnt been touched since I painted it The guy said he'll crack on with it next week hopefully, once its started it shouldnt take too long to do. He needs to put it together to measure it, then take it apart again, send it off to be machined (should only take a day ) and then rebuilt.

Not looking forward to having to put the engine back in, I reckon the weathers going to stay this cold for a while

Progress has been non-existant, but yesterday my engine got measured, so its ready to be skimmed now!

Im hoping to have the engine back sometime this week (may be wishful thinking)! Then its just a case of sticking it back in!

Anyone got any useful tips?

i really feel for you,weve had a few probs with Boris lately he had brake problems and we didnt get to drive him for a couple of weeks

I know it must seem like forever since you last drove Lily but youl soon be behind her wheel again
Keeping my fingers crossed for you,hoping Lilys heart will soon be beating again

I was hoping to hear about the engine today as its been a week, but nothing yet Im really starting to give up on her Im getting so disheartened by it all
