Nope That leaks as well! But this one is different and new!

Had a little look yesterday once it stopped raining, got the grille off and found that its not coming from the oil pump (which I first thought) but from the timing cover. (I think thats what its called, the black cover the fan belts on above the oil pump, below the water pump?)

Yep that's the timing cover, could just need some TLC and a new gasket have you checked the Tappet covers?

Yeah, the fella resealed one of the tappet covers as it was leaking a bit, but it didnt do anything Im pretty sure thats where its coming from now, took her to my mates garage today and he reckons the same

Shes going in on wednesday to have her exhaust sorted out, she sounds like a tractor at the mo!

Also I got told she sounds like a VW beetle, is that a good thing or a bad thing?!

Is that around where you put the split pin in the gear linkage?

Shes leaking from there, but this is another leak!

Reeties, now im back off holiday I need to get Lilys exhaust sorted and put back on properly!

Took Lily to my mates garage on Tuesday! And she does sound like a Beetle anymore!

He took the exhaust off and put it back on properly and hes spot welded it at the y piece to stop it coming off. Hes adviced me to get a 2nd engine steady (one thats on the later mins, so just gotta order that now )

Lily's getting the star treatment

Well, in true Lily style the niceness didnt last long

Ive not really been using her much with this oil leak, although it hadnt been affecting her and the dipstick level wasnt really moving. But took her for a bit of a drive yesterday and all was fine. Went to go out in her again later on and she was running really rough. Shes started dumping even more oil now. So the timing cover gasket needs replacing So gutted.

Just need to find somewhere to take her to get it done cause the fellas given up on her.

Ive got to take Lily to my mates garage at half 7 tomorrow morning. Hes having her for a couple of days to try and find where this oils coming from.

Heard back from my mate. The oil is coming from the timing cover afterall and the rough running was due to a misfire on 3rd due to a dodgey HT lead! So ive gone and got her some new leads and sparkplugs and also some more oil and a new filter as shes about ready for a change! They reckon she should be done by the weekend, so fingers crossed they dont find anything else!

I hoping to go pick her tomorrow, I miss her little smiley face Im popping down to see how shes getting on in a bit and take her some grapes!

She should be on my local clubs stand at the Crich Mini Show so if anyones there, keep an eye out for her! (If she manages to make it )

Shes home!

Went and picked her up this morning. Shes still leaking oil though as my mate tightened up the timing cover as the bolts were a bit loose, but the oils still coming through Its not as bad as it was though.

Shes had a new set of leads fitted and some new spark plugs, also had to put a new dizzy cap on as there was a hole in the side of hers which was causing a misfire

Shes also had an oil and filter change and had some of the terminals (?) on her coil replaced as hers were looking a bit tired.

Got her grille back on so she doesnt looks sorry for herself anymore!
