I'd never noticed how much oil there is on the floor everywhere until I wanted to keep checking if she was leaking!

Since my last post Lily had started leaking oil again and also tried to blow me up one night on the way home from work.
I thought the head gasket had gone and I dont get out of work until late, so I thought id have to risk driving her the 2 miles back to my fellas house. I asked the fella to come out and follow me back incase there was any problems. After about a mile he started flashing me to pull over. As I stopped loads of smoke started coming out of my bonnet, the petrol pipe had split, weirdly nothing to do with the headgasket. There was a massive puddle of petrol all over the road.
So after waiting for a tow home, Lily ws abandoned on the fellas drive for a week until my mechanic could come fix her for me. He came and stuck another bit of pipe on so I could get her to his workshop. Shes now got a nice rubber pipe as and I need to order a spring guard to go over it
As for the headgasket, it hadnt gone afterall, and the oil leak, the breather was blocked so things werent working right! After that being sorted shes seems to be running better, but shes developed a flat spot. I think she needs her fueling setup properly again. Its not been touch since the new carb and needle went on.
So thats what Lilys been up to! Im on the lookout for another car so I can have Lily garaged over the winter. I do quite a lot of miles in a week and she really cant handle them

Have you got her booked in for a rolling road? Or are you going to wait till next year and get it done then when lily comes back on the road?
Would she survive the stress though..? Sounds like she might not at the moment..

I would be quite interested to get her on a RR just to see what powers shes chugging out after all the rebuilds! But not too bothered about her being set up on one

Ill still be using her until her tax runs out at the end of the month, then she'll be off the road until the grits gone. Might see about possibly sending her to the bodyshop for a tidy up before the shows next year!

Sorry I haven't replied in a while! I haven't been on here in ages
Most people take the stickers off them now, yours looks really nice
Can't wait to see her out of the garage again!! Atleast she is tucked away for the winter now, the salt won't be able to eat away at her in there
I am keeping mine on the road, I just wash it off when I get back and make sure that I keep it dry.
Also I keep polishing it and I have stone guarded underneath with the added waxoyl

Not really updated this much, since nothing has happened to her since shes been in the garage! Butttt...Ill be getting her booked in the bodyshop this week, just waiting for a call back about when she can go in!
Im having a few little bits and bobs tidied up, front end under the lights, valances, sills etc and then hopefully she'll be all done for the 1st of March when ill be taxing her!
Looking forward to having her on the road again! Hopefully there wont be too much grit about in march!
