Its basically when a car is in okay driveable condition, but the paint and such cosmetics play no role, so surface rusty parts, primered areas with no paint over them, bumper might be missing or something... but these are often complimented by some nice wheels or chrome in some areas and often these cars have pinstriping on them which is a great art. And more often than not these cars have very nice custom interiors and great engines!

I spose you could say Rosie was a rat because her previous owners drove he around like this for quite a while before she was mended. The inside wasn't too bad and since it was an 1100 special you could claim the original wheels were cool :erm:

My first car was a Mk 2 Fiesta where the front panels were black (new and unpainted) and the rest of it was varing shades of blue. I paid about £150 for it and it had a 1.6 engine in it. Great fun, had no expectations of it and it did embarass some newer, nicer looking cars.
I didnt have to worry about where to park it (dents) didnt have to worry about washing it, it was cheap and a good, reliable car. Great fun with now worries about t being nicked lol
You probably find there arent that many Minis like that as they are cheap to run and repair, all things for them to look nice are pretty cheap and as they are such classics the will most probably be well looked after.
