Ello.

I need a little advice from you lovely people. As I'm getting sooo close to painting my car I've started to prep the roof. Now the roof has alot of scratches on it, some quite deep. I have been reading about cutting compounds and an electric sander/polisher thingy. I also have some dents which will be getting a little filler treatment.
Will I be able to get away with using this filler primer which i class as a high build primer (please tell me if I'm wrong) to fill the scratches or will I have to filler them. Maybe rub/cut them back??? Totally new to painting as with everything else on the car when I started so any advice would be great.

Below is a the only pic that came out kinda ok for me to explain.

If you're going to be repainting the roof anyway i would just key the roof with wet and dry (i use 800 grit) paying special attention to the deeper scratches, making sure that the edges are well feathered, and then prime, prep and paint as per normal.
