I really want to get to at least the Festival of Speed this year, in July. Just wondering, due to relatively high ticket prices (can't believe I was moaning about £15 to get into Bingley!), whether there is too much to see in one day, and whether its better to get a weekend pass?

Also, its also then a lot more money to get into one of the grandstands, is it worth it?

Whats the Goodwood Revival like? I'm a fan of the 50s and 60s GT racers, so wondering whether its worth paying to go see this show as well, or whether I'll see most of it at the Festival of Speed anyway?

Its great! if yuo get in early enough (as in, 7,8am) you can usualy see most of the interesting stuff in a loong day. Also theres the trek up to the rally stage, and you need a good hour or two there definately!
My boss got us some grandstand tickets last year, right at the front. It was worth it then because it pist down, but if your willing to chance the weather then you can get just as good a view, or maybe even better just standing.

The revival is coool, but I think the cut-off is early 60's, so not many minis at all..

Worth doing both if you just like any motoring history!

I've heard nowt but good about the Goodwood Revival days!! :w00t: (apart from maybe it's a little pricey for some)
I think it's a fab idea, vintage cars, vintage races & everybody in vintage clothes. Love it. I would really like to go. :)

ooh yeah I forgot, you look like a tit if you dont dress up! really good, fun atmosphere, and loads of nice little touches like rag-and-bone men wandering around, and spivs flogging dodgey watches..

My boss usualy takes me for a day out, he tends to get last minute tickets on weebay weve had a few bargains.

Free tickets for meeeeee  Although I must add, as far as I know they have different "events" on each day, so its got to be worth going to the whole thing? Its all about the atmosphere and mixing with the driving greats from the UK and abroad.

Babes, been talking to Dad about this, he said dont rush into getting a ticket too soon because they normally do deals in the local paper (which I can look out for) where you can buy a weekend ticket and get the friday ticket free.

Dad also said wear comfy shoes and get there at like 7am and make a full day of it (so no wearing your high heels) :) :P

xXxXx

Babes,

think that bit gave it away..!!

weve found out over the last few years it really does help to get in at the crack of dawn (literaly, we left bristol at 4.30am last year!) and check out all the detailed stuff before the masses. for the festival of speed anyway. then trudge up the hill to the rally stage!! thats the best bit.
*starts daydreaming again about the Audi Quattro S1...*

seriously, im really tempted to bring a digital recorder this year, just to get some of the sounds from the rally stage! not often you hear a lancia, 6R4, Quattro S1 and mk1 Cooper S all within 10 mins of each other!
