Hi I am Jack

I am building a 1400 class Tarmac rally mini

i am currently restoring the shell on my clubman 1275.
with the restoration goes the rollcage, welded in by an FIA welder I know.

The engine will be a 1340 which I will bore out after I have finished with the shell.
I would go to a 1380 but I keep gettin advised not to due to head gasket problems between 2 and 3 cylinder.

I will most likely be looking for a lot of competition parts, so i will keep my eyes open on here.

Heres a little update, Since posting last,
I now have a 1380 engine, every thing lightened and balanced,
forged pistons,
richard longman head,
titan roller rockers 1.5 ratio,
weber 45 dcoe on maniflow manifold,
Non vac dizzy with aldon ignitor,

Tranx straight cut syncro box
Tranx LSD with 4.1 final drive
hardy spicer output shafts
Jack knight Quickshift

And a few other electrical bits, cut offs, and extinguisher.

Welcome mate, keep us posted with the build. Where are you based and where are you going to race it?

Cadwell Park is great for proving the Mini, used to use it many years ago for rally special stage.

cheers, I'm based in Lymm, not far from manchester.

I plan to do, single venue rallys. I would like to do some testing at Cadwell but it is quite a distance from me.
Theres a few places that i can do some testing round here, so I will see when its finished. I can also decide then, which venues I want to do.

Not much progress recently, i have been pretty busy with uni and mechanicing at some other race events the past few weekends.

Your clubman looked good, looks pretty similar to mine. Did that spoiler actually give you much downforce though?

cage shoudl be coming from custom cages soon, my boss is getting 8 for various different cars and mine is being ordered with that so hopfully a bit of discount, but most likely not

got the harnesses sorted aswell and also sorted out my plumbed in extinguisher.
