are they standard replacement ones? or are they the ones that you have to drill out the doors?
standard fit are cool- just bolt them on
non standard........ not cool i fitted some once but the finish was not cool because the plastic piece of C**p they supplyed to mount them cracked very easily. just be very carefull mate.

bullet mirrors. wondefull thngs when there in your hand arn't they, a bugger to fit..
the way i ended up doing it, was i had to drill extra holes on the inner lip of the door, where i wanted one of the bolts to go through, if you can find then i suggest you get posi drive m6 screws to fit, at least for the front screws on each mirror, you can get away with m6 X 15mm long normal screw for the rear bolt, dont expect to see much out of the passenger mirror unless you put it realy high up on the door...
mine are on for show on legal reasons only, i never use then to see whats behind me
hope this helps

the way i fitted the mirrors on my mini was to use the bottom part of the standard mirror ( the stalk bit ) and fit the bullet mirror to this insted of the bullet bracket.
in doing this it also rases the mirror up so that you can use it and saves drilling holes in the doors .

I got the standard replacement ones - and they were hassly enough to fit. Dont have too much of a problem seeing behind - as long as they are angled just right, one little knock when cleaning and thats it....blind!!!

Ok. I drilled a couple of holes from the inside of the door pannel, Put the mirror in place, then pushed the bolts thrugh from the inside on the end of a socket. And did it that way. Much easier. The holes arent too much of a problem on the inside. Ill just smooth them off with a file and paint the bare metal bits. they wont look too out of place.
I put mine at an angle because otherwise I couldnt see bugger all out of them!

I have the drivers side one fitted , its a piece of C**p (cheap universal type)I havent bothered with the n/s one as i wont be able to see anything from it anyway
I intend to buy some i can see out of at the next show (i think a good mirror will be a MUST on the German autobahns)
but if you must fit them
remove the chrome strips at the top of the door (inner and outer)wind the window down , use small bolts and fit them to a ring-spanner using a bit of dum-dum , if you cant find dum-dum , try blue-tac or plasticine , its fiddley but possable

I have been looking at these mirrors also. I see that in a few places , they do an adjustable bullet mirror, which you can manouvre into position just like any other mirror to get the best viewing angle. They seem more expensive, but considering the trouble people have had with the fixed kind, they might be worth the extra.
They do look the dogs danglies also.

The adjustable ones look the best for the job, I just hope they are straight replacements, as I aint drilling any extra holes in the car.

Fitted mine this morning without to much trouble. Don't know if mine are the adjustable ones but you can move the glass abit to try and see out of them. my drivers side mirror isn't to bad and I can see out of it fairly well but the passenger side mirror is useless and there more for show than anything else
