Hi, I am the proud owner of a classic limited edition mini red hot. It has been in dry storage for a number of years now but is still in good nick. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what it is worth. Someone may want it as a project or just as parts. Its has all the orginal features. Any ideas will be gratefully recieved.

well, as no one else is willing to have a go....

the fact that it is a red hot will have a very small influence on the price but i mean very small. if its a rot box then its only worth braking for parts but if its got a good solid shell then your looking at a few hundred quid. on a very very lucky day you may get up to five hundred but it would need to be in very good nick.

its just not old enough or young enough to be worth any more at the moment.

with an MOT you could be looking at around a £1000 ????

but putting a price on minis is becoming a very personal thing in the way that one guy may hate it and the next guy may have been looking for a red hot to restore for the past five years.

suck it and see !!

must now admit - waiting for someone else to point it out - red hot isnt that rare or exclusive.

pricings are barmy at the moment, but hold out for a grand if its MOT'd and in reasonable condition with no obvious holes anywhere.

well a standard red hot or jet black is actually quite a rare site, its just that for some reason their not considered particularly desirable at the moment, just like most other 80's minis :genius:

THE ENGINE IS IN GOOD NICK, BODY WORK GOOD, HAS HAD SOME SUPERFICIAL WELDING DONE ON RUSTY CORNERS. DO YOU THINK A STARTING PRICE OF £500 IS OK.

Any mini is worth what someone will pay for it - £500 sounds like an ok start point, though only someone who comes to have a look can decide whether they think that's the case.

Good luck with the sale :genius:

Edit@ Noticed you said the engine is in good nick - is it a runner? That could change everything

if you think its good and solid then £500 seems like a good start, but remember, its only going to go downwards from there so make sure you price it with that in mind :genius:

you might be selling yourself short at 500 quid - start high, and let them beat you down.
