Hi all im currently building a b/road terrorist and am undecided on its finished outlook do i go for the show stopper or well used look (think rat look beetles ect bear metal panels surface rust) my main query is will a mini pull the rat look off or look a wreck? awnsers pleeze

The show stopper Like you did last Riv Run

Good chance a rat look mini would only last about 10 minutes in bare steel. Faded colours and primer with a flat laquer might keep in going a bit longer!

No grill is instant rat look! A mk1 look with the rear lights and door hinges would suit the look, then a roof rack with a jerry can on top and a couple of spare wheels.

You'd need wide rims, slammed to the weeds. Interior could be the old style brown cloth seats with the stripes.

Then whack a 1380 supercharged lump in there!

Rat can not be "made", its something that happens with time. You can not paint Rat... and what ever anyone says, Matt-Black is not rat!

If your after Rat cars, look at the VW sence, or my Voodoo thread... He's classed as rat, obv, I wanted it more rat than he is but things have come about so need to sell.

If you want a true rat, try working on ur Mini with VERY Limited tools, and use whats you can pay your hands on, in otherwords not proper mini bits. As "rat" only came about due to people using what they had or could make with limited tools to keep their cars on the road.

None of this bare metal C**p... roughted up paint, does "help" the look, but does not make the look.

Minidj is no amature at making the rat look dog

i still remember the undersind of djs bonnet being full up with tupperware to hold all the fluids at Riv' last year

I got to admit minidj has a talent for the Rat look. He spent months & months on getting his mini ready for the last Riv Run.

Go Rat Look! My old pick up looked great (?) in its matt black and wood grain splendor! Added to that the weld splattered 'screen (oops) partially deseamed bodywork, odd steelies/ alloys and exhaust held on with wire. The old "ratty" never let me down! Now "working" on MK II Ratty with 6" roof chop. Hope to have finished butchering it to be ready for Riv Run in May. Hope to see all there (fingers crossed)

Thanks for the support so far sounds like the rat looks the way to go it'l save hours on doing body work lol!!! just got to get the 1380 rebuilt after last years misshap on the sunday run at riviera thnx to those of ya who stopped and offered support that and using me as a good reason to give ya mini a rest (u know who u r).
