Thanks for the replies everyone! Things aren't so great at the minute our necks seem to be getting worse by the minute and we've both got splitting headaches! I don't think it helps though that we've not eaten much since it happened so maybe once we get some tea it'll be a bit better.

I've had a closer look at the car now and it actually did really well. It was completely sound when the Jag hit, and I'm really pleased that it protected us as well as it did, and while I'll be sad to see it go at least it died fighting!

On the upside of things, I went out this afternoon to look at another Mk3 that I saw on eBay and ended up buying it! Its an Indian Red coupe, which is like a really dark metallic red colour, and I'm going to re-shell my GT into it, once all the insurance is all sorted out  So its not all bad!

I think for the money I paid I wouldn't have got any Mini, good or not!

Will hopefully be better for Malvern! Am aiming to get the Mini sorted over the next couple of weeks

personally i would go for a whiplash claim as you are genuinly in pain. each will get something out of it. no win no fee remember. stops the dent in your pocket being as big. a good massage will help matters aswell.

Really sorry to hear this Tom >_<

Gutted for you.

Make sure you and Jen get your necks checked out by a doc, and get a doctors note for insurance.

Good news about getting the other car.

Take it easy :P xx

Glad to hear your ok anyway Tom.
At the end of the day, its a piece of metal and can be replaced (as you have already done!!!)
I know how good the condition was from seeing it at Bingley. My first polo met the same fate aswell :P
Got any pic's of your new polo?
What engine is it??
Finally, make sure if your necks dont get any better by tomorrow, go to the doctors and get checked out as if you do need to make a personnal injury claim you it will be easier with evidence off a professional.

Hi Tom, I tried ringing today to see how you both are. i was lucky when i had my creash, i just got a bit of a stiff neck, nothing as serious as yours. the insurance company have put me onto another personal injusry company, who i kept telling that i only had a bit of a stiff neck and nothing like whiplash, they said not to worry and that they only take cases on where the claim will be worth more than a grand, and that mine would easily be more than that. hey ho.
Hope you feel better soon Nick

Awww sorry to hear this take some painkillers and something warm around your neck like put towell in microwave for couple minutes, but don't massage your neck this will make it 10times worse and can make it more serious.

glad your both ok :P , but seriously i'd get your necks checked out by a doctor, you never know it could be something a bit more serious >_< .
and if your insurers offer to get you some money for your injuries, do it. i got £1900 when i had my accident a couple of weeks after the L2b last year, same sort of accident as yours. They may take a while getting the money but it does help, ive been able to clear my credit cards and cut them up, and i have some money left for the very long trip im doing later in the year VVV

Hey everyone, thanks for all the messages!

Nick - I got your voicemail but completely forgot to call you back, I'm sorry mate, was a bit of a hectic weekend but I'll give you a bell tonight if I can...

We both went to the doctors yesterday morning and we've both got medium-severe whiplash - its still bloody painful to move, and stuff like lifting our heads when lying down is really painful! The doctor said to just take Ibuprofen for a week or so and if its no better to go back and see him in 10 days. He also gave us a book with some neck exercises to do so hopefully that'll help but at the minute its a bit sore to try doing them yet.

We're both off work as well, which isn't great as I only started a new job 4 weeks ago, but they've been really good about it!

Am just waiting to hear from the insurers now, which'll no doubt take a lifetime!

I've tried to do a little bit of work on the new car too, but its mostly been things that don't involve moving my head, like taking out the crappy air freshener! :teehee: Hopefully it won't be long before its a GT again though.
