Tom, Hope you're both feeling better and sorry to hear about the accident.

However, If you have had to take time off work andyour Doctor has said you have mild to serious whiplash make sure that you tell the insurance company! Both Emma and my mum have had accidents like this in the past and they both still have the occaisonal problem with their neck! My mum has to see a specialist every 3 month to sort her neck out and the accident was over 25 years ago! Get a copy of your doctors note and make a claim for you both. Will help with any treatment you will need to pay for and will help with bits for the replacement car!

Take it easy both of you and see you soon

Jonesy

P.s. Eilsha-the-cooper, I seriously doubt you'd want to be in the situation Tom is in now! Whiplash is an extremely painful injury and can cause many years of problems!

Sorry to hear about the accident. At least it wasn't the Mini.

Like other people have said though, make sure you follow up on the whiplash. I had a completely self inflicted accident a few yers ago and every now and then my back still plays up. Im pretty sure you could end up with at least a couple of K each for whiplash - and they will prob be only to keen to pay it because if you dont take it now and had problems in a couple of years Im pretty sure someone is still liable.

Anyway, at least you are both ok.

My what a caring and sensible thing to say!!

As MMJ has already said, whiplash isnt nice. Ok so you might get a bit of cash but for the pain you go through it really isnt worth praying to anyone for someone to crash into you.
I was involved in an accident 4years ago (as a passenger). We were stopped waiting to turn into a drive, a merc A-class was behind us stopped, and a freelander doing well over 60 didnt stop. The force of the freelander pushed the a class so far forward that its front numberplate was found under the rear bumper of the freelander. The A class was a write off and my mums 307 was badly damadged, but the rear bumper supports had done their job, although they were bent.
I suffered whiplash as did mum. The driver of the a-class, who revealed after 10 minutes of shock he was actually a police officer, was trreated for shock, whiplash, and severe bruising to the back.
As i said that was 4 years ago, and i can still move the vertibre in my neck, which is painful. I have to be careful of what im lifting which has effected my job, and as i keep saying the pain is unbearable at times.

But then saying all that, maybe someone crashing into your car migth teach you to be careful for what you wish for.

Hope you and Jenny are feeling better Tom and the insurance are actually doing their job.

Hi Tom and Jenny

Sorry to hear your still suffering from the effects of the whiplash, just to re-iterate what everyone else has said and to get yourselves regularly checked out by the doctors, after suffering it myself and other injuries I know it is better to make sure you get the best treatment and give yourself time to heal!!!

And not to hijack the topic but in reply to Elisha the coopers post....i would not wish an accident on anyone!! After being involved in a major-ish accident about 1 1/2 years ago where I got sideswiped by a speeding car, I still feel I'm lucky to be alive and even after all this time my confidence is still affected when driving. I wouldn't wish the injuries on anyone....I had whiplash and several fractured ribs (and still to this day one of my ribs has not set back in its normal place...and is affected by certain things I do).
