Hi,
Basically im having the engine/gearbox out because i stripped the thread on the sump plug :teehee: and the clutch needs doing.
Really all i want to know is should i replace the oil pump while im in there. Wont really have time to decide once its out as it will be a quick in out as far the engine is concerned. Also i think there is a 1275 version of the slot drive type or did i invent that? would that be worth fitting if atall possible? (its an A+ by the way.)

Thanks in advance

if you strip the engine then check and replace whats needed i would look at the pump.

Agreed i dont have to take the engine out but i find it saves so much time and swearing! also gives me the chance to sort any oil seals and leaks, gaskets etc. also have a spare gearbox so im just gonna straight swap em. Probably easiest.

I would definatly re-place the pump. I have has an oil pump cause no end of problems! Worth the few quid it will cost.

if the engine is apart always replace the oil pump, for the small cost it is well worth it.
