Basically im having the engine/gearbox out because i stripped the thread on the sump plug

Really all i want to know is should i replace the oil pump while im in there. Wont really have time to decide once its out as it will be a quick in out as far the engine is concerned. Also i think there is a 1275 version of the slot drive type or did i invent that? would that be worth fitting if atall possible? (its an A+ by the way.)
