hi im building an engine its a pre A plus 1098 crank and piston and I am putting it in to a A+ block my question is do the main bearings differ between pre A plus and A+, as I sent the crank of to be re profiled and the bearings that was sent back with it doesn't fit in to both side of the bearing caps

Yes they are different but only in the position of the locating tang. A+ should be central.
