Hello everyone!

Seems that this is the top Mini forum around, so I thought I would say hello.

I've somehow wound up with a '76 New Zealand saloon (round-nose) that some joker brought over here I guess about 10 years ago. Looks like he thought he would convert it over into a '90-ish Cooper lookalike, which fooled me at the time since well I didn't know a '66 from a '96 if you know what I mean. Anyway the car's not too bad all in all, has a 1275 A+ lump and very little rust for a 32-year-old car. Learning lots and lots from reading all the project threads. Any of you mini fans ever over here in Philadelphia, please look me up!

Here she is:

Welcome

Thanks all! This is a great resource, esp. over here where there are precisely 0 proper minis around -- nobody to compare notes with?

Speaking of which, anybody know what front and rear badges *ought* to be on a '76?

It could be a 90's Mini masquerading as a '76 to beat your car import regulations. Doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy it

A '76 mini would have had British Leyland "flying arsehole" insignia and a Mini shield on the bonnet - have a look at Yorkshire Chris's project thread he's just rebranded his.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look!

And yes, I certainly do enjoy it... that is, when it's not on jackstands as it currently is (new bearings all round, new exhaust, etc. etc.). what the heck, I needed a project...
