Hey my name is Richard and im from New Zealand. I have a 1976 mini 1000, underway for a turbo 1600cc 20valve 4age. Between me being a mechanic, my older brother being good on the welders and my little brother being good at electrics and good general slave we seem to have all the bases covered, and to add to the fact that New zealands certification laws are fairly relaxed makes for a fairly uncomplicated build. Ive been looking threw the topics and come across a couple of 4ages but havent seen many good detailed pictures of subframes. Will post pictures as the project comes along

Cornwall? is that in Auckland where the 1 tree hill is maybe? haha im from the south island but when ive got my mini going and on the road, the plan was to do a road trip around New Zealand so will be good to catch up with anyone else in the club ^_^ .

Mini engine is now out of the subframe and the 4age is mocked up roughly where it will be sitting under the bonnet of the mini :genius: (more room under the bonnet that i first thought). Will put pictures up as soon as i recharge the batteries for the camera. Haha at this rate it should be up and going well within the 6 months ive allowed myself :P

Wow sounds impressively fast...

Richard I have a '76 mini 1000 from New Zealand as well, but it came here (to the US) 10 years or so I guess. The look on mine has been bastardized oops I mean "updated" so many times I can't tell what it was originally supposed to look like, so it would be a great help if you could post some pics of yours? Particularly curious about the interior and the badges.

Many thanks,
--Hugh

Gidday Richard! I'm gonna ask a stuupid question now (as I'm fairly new to the Mini building thang!) - what is a 4age???
Where bouts in Otago are you? Gonna be watching the Super 14's? Come on the Crusaders!!!

P.s. I lived out in NZ for about ten months a few years back, and even I know 'Andy from Cornwall', lives on the south island can't miss him ???!!!???
