running at about 4/5 grand at 60/65mph on the motorway the other day, engine just shut down then restarted, all in the space of less than a second. rev counter went back to zero then straight back up to 4 grand. quite a massive de-celeration too. this must be an electrical fault yes? If so where because at the moment the car is in bits, and its an opportune time to fix the gremlin. Cheers
Jim
p.s it also loses all its power and then shuts down on hills. Its as though its fuel starvation, but all the fuel lines have been checked, and it still does it on a full tank of petrol. its a mystery to me
engine shutdown

I had a prob like this once, it turned out to be the battery cable. It had come loose and was touchin the exhaust ever now and again, mainly on hills. Every time it touched, the car died then picked up again.

its an ignition fault not fuel, if it was fuel starvation then u would loose power first, it would lean out and looking at ur head, cylinder it hasnt been getting that hot
