Is a Lambswool pad used on a machine to apply the polish or buff the polish after its been applyed?

I'd go with buffing off - you dont want it saturated with polish otherwise it becomes useless.

Lambswool mops are pish 
It'll be for taking off definitely. Put it on by hand, or get a soft sponge mop head.
