There was a good tamiay plastic kit for sale on one of the trade stands at Bingley today, a large-scale mini cooper, shame it was £50 though. :(

It had a red cooper picture on the box, but I didn’t catch what scale it was though.

Here's one I started a while ago. I canabalized another kit to fit discs on the rear and I will be getting rid of the rear sets. I've even fixed the bonnet to the shell a flicked it up at the back for better air flow. ;) I'm also thinking about building a full miglia style cage.

wow mate thats awsome! looks good, how did you paint, rattle cans or airbrush? Ive made a fair few of these now, ANORAK gave me a few model kits one of them was a mini, i just stripped down the body and its awaiting my primer now, well, when the weather gets a bit better.

Cheers for posting that up and i'd love to see some more pictures.

Thank dude, the body actually looks a lot worse in person than the pics suggest. I sprayed it with a can but it was cold it the paint has bloomed. I'm probably going to strip it down and start again soon.

I'll get some more pics of it up soon.

Well I just bought one the aformention Tamiya 1/12 Mini Cooper 1.3i kits. Got it off ebay for the bargain sum of £26.99 plus P&P. I can't wait to get started on it but first I need to sort out my paints and dig the air brush out. I think I'm going to go for a race style on this one so it looks like I'll be having lots of fun with glue and styrene.

I'll get some comparison pics of it next to my 1/10 and 1/24 Minis tomorrow. It's definitely going to be a car worth taking my time over.

Here's the Tamiya 1/12 Mini Cooper next to the Tamiya 1/24 Mk1 Mini Cooper. The 1/12 version is amazingly well detailed and should look very nice once it's finish which given its size could take some time. >_<
