hey all.

well.
No longer going to use the mini back and forth to work.
got my Metro GTI for that now.

so...

I'm not saving, looking, and thinking what could I do to my mini....
here is a pic, before the car buggered, up.

I need any thoughts,... what you think? could do too improve, looks, interior, colours, engine...

I'm thinking...

1960'S-1970'S classic rally / racer... - Le Man's style...

Engine:

I know I want a good engine in there. (and will save for one, no problem)
just not sure whats best. almost bought a Metro Turbo engine for £600, but... be too much for me.

I'm thinking a Fast Road 998cc or 1275cc with straight cut gears (love the sound of them)

been looking at morspeed stuff.
want a engine, which is nippy off the mark, and sounds nice. (but most of all... runs ok)

Interior:

Roll Cage, Cobra Classic Bucket seats (in black, white pipeing)
black door cards, not sure about dash yet...

Outside:

If I'm going for a old classic racer, (sponsers, numbers, my name... White on the side) and so on...
think, I will photoshop it all first, see what It looks like. and get advice here... then might do it.
as you know the Le'Mans colours, red, white and blue.

like Mcqueens jacket (which I have aswell)

I could do a Mini Herbie... but.... dunno... I would like it too look old, but new... if you know what I mean.

I'll keep my split rims, aswell. as Love them, need to sort the archers out though to fit them well.

so....
yea....

Any advice?
idea's...?
should I or... not...?

I have till May... when I want it to be looking nice for London To Brighton Run :o
But if I find the right engine... thats the first thing I will be working on.

so prices... what should I pay for... and so on.

i think you should leave as is to be honest...its different but tastefull!!! i think you should get smaller arches for the wheels though as they are too big for them....i would look at group 2 arches painted in white? or the special arches in white?

Just opinions

James

wow... james...

you brought my dead thread back to life...

the arches are not supose to be for those wheels.
I have split rims for the car, but they have not been cut the arches. so I put 5x12's on while I drove it too work.

I be putting the split rims back on soon.
and yep.

going for 1275 engine, straight cut gears, rear roll cage, buckets,
make it look like a old retro racer.

i agree with james nice looking car but arches definetely too big it is the only thing ( in my worthless opion) that distracts from the overall look
i am currently doing a 78 and have had a 1310 engine done with straight cuts and cant wait to get the engine in and have the first listen to it
hopefully by the middle of may

yea the arches do look big from that angle.

its not till you see it in real life, with the wide split rims on. (that it goes well)
how much did it cost you to get your engine done? and where?

I have a 1275 coming, and want straight cuts... now sure whats the best way to do it?

Completely off topic but what camera and lens did you use on the latest shot. I'm guessing it's a longish lens but what camera is it, the shots are lovely and crisp..... O_O

When are you looking to upgrade the camera? My good lady dropped my 350d and broke the casing and battery flap so I'm looking to change to a 400d. I've read the reviews of the 450 and it sounds fantastic but it's just little too expensive with everything I need right now. Let me know if you want to shift the body only, I'm already interested :ghost:

funds cant justify an upgrade yet
want lenses first, then I do my camera change.
