Hi to all on tmf, I'm originally from Bristol in the UK and moved out to Australia in 1989 at the age of 13. I saw some footage of the zcars on 'You Tube' and had to look into it, hence why I've joined this great forum. I don't own a mini atm but I thought I'd do some research into these awesome cars.... Plus I'm 6'3" so I don't know yet if I'll fit in one, I drove in an original Cooper S that was in the famous Monte Carlo race, it still had the holes and mark on the bonnet where they attached the badge....this was back when I was in the UK and a friend of mine bought it from a collector.

Since I was a kid I've always been around cars with my dad and I've always though why doesn't someone put a motorbike engine in a car and that's the other reason that zcars caught my attention and it looks like Chris has done a great job in achieving this.....

Hi, welcome to TMF!

There's huge potential with converting Mini's to alternative power, and plenty of options available - you can really fit pretty much any engine you like given enough time, resources and skill!

As for the height issue, don't worry about it, there's plenty of tall people (ask The Matt!) here who run Mini's, plenty of things can be done to keep you comfortable!

Anyway, enjoy looking around and have a look at the Z-Cars section if you want to find out more!

Welcome to TMF!

Are there a lot of Mini's over there?

As for height, I'm 6'2" and I fit in without any modifications to my standard interior, I find it quite comfy. The seat is so upright its like driving a tiny little lorry!

Thanks for the warm welcome and advise regarding my height and the Zcars section. Bungle - I just watched your link, so funny I sent the link to my brother who loved that show as a kid....

Mayfair85, to answer your question regarding mini's here - they call them Bricks or Quick Bricks and there are lots plus some 1988 efi imported versions etc.

Thanks again everyone.....
