I don't need a ciggy lighter in Huey (well, not for ciggies, maybe for other stuff) but anyway I think I'll just go and fit one using Karl's helpful guide as a matter of principle :cheese:

lol... makes you wonder sometimes...

Also why I only read miniresource and minifinity, occasionally popping in a comment or two...

But if you are going to add an "accessory socket", ciggy lighter is so non-pc nowadays, do use 15+ amp wiring, do put in a inline fuse, and if you want to it to work when the ignition is off, I'd be tempted to wire it straight to the soleniod on the starter like the Mainbeam is. This reduces the chance of overloading any other part of the wiring loom to zero.

the way mine is wired in it will blow the fues in the mpis fuse box if you overload it, (did that a few times on my old one when the socket fell to bits and storted out.)

I agree it would be better to run staright from the solinoid, but have you sen the wiring on a mpi?? its bad enough as it is, ona carbed car its dead easy, alot less wires.

Basically, as the guide, but the my recommendation is connect it to the soleniod and put in an inline fuse. Doing this way does not disturb any of the minis wiring, and has less chance of causing damage. One thing though, make sure that that wire is protected with a gromet where it passes through the bulk head, and would suggest that the fuse is placed before that point.

I will be putting one in mine in the next day or so, so will take photies.
