Hello,
I was wondering, I know someone who sells a turbo that was on a metro turbo engine.
I have an a-series engine (12HD16) and there should be dished pistons in it.
I once had a Fiat Cinquecento with a turbo-conversion and the pistons where replaced by dished pistons to lower the compression.
Is it possible to mount the turbo on the standard engine if it has dished pistons??
Of course I need to modify the bulkhead, create a fuel return line and so on....

Turbo On A Standard A-series Engine

The normal solution is to remove the head and have some material removed from the chambers to enlarge them to drop the compression ratio.
this isnt to had to do yourself using a dremel or similar if you have a knack for DIY.
the metro turbo had a compression ratio of 9.3:1 and ran 4 psi boost at low revs and 7psi above about 4500rpm.
the metro turbo did have uprated pistons, so if you have an non turbo block i can't say how well the pistons would last, I'm guessing if you dropped the compression to 8.5:1 and added an intercooler you'd be ok up to 10psi.
alternativly you can get a set of NEW hypatec pistons and rings off of ebay for about 100 quid iirc, quite a few people on www.turbominis.com rate these pistons.
