I just bought an Avonbar 1380 short block and an M95 Eaton Supercharger.
Apart from locating a suitable cylinder head, I think I will be needing a carb of some sort.

I currently own an 2000 reg Mini Cooper and was planning on ripping its engine out and sliding in the 1380 and supercharger.

Carb (s) will be routed to the front of the engine bay I imagine... however what would be best best setup to go for?

Either split 45s... although I think a single 40 would be best? Failing that... what other options do I have?

Ideally I am shooting for between 140 - 160 bhp... although more would be better :)

Or failing that, would keeping the fuel injection system in be easier/better?

Thanks

I assume you're going for a suck through setup ? A single 40 will be be to small by far, a single 45 will be ok. What about the good old 1-3/4" SU, if you want to keep it really simple ?
Obviously injection is more tuneable, but carbs are cheap and easy to setup ........

Yep, Phil, from what I have read so far, a suck through system seems the best.
Simple is my middle name... at least for this engine build it will be.
I have a shopping list of various parts I need to get before I stick it all together this autumn/winter.

I was going to go turbo again, but thought I'd have a breather and try out a supercharger :P

I'll get my eyes pealed for a 1 3/4"

HOWEVER...

is going the injection a lot more work? because I could always be tempted

if you can stretch to buy the injection system do it! well worth it....i can see that and i dont even have it :P

youle be looking at throttle bodie, trigger wheels standalone ECU wiers sensors all the stuff, do your research before you go ahead and buy tho...i believe theres a site EFI minis or somthing like that which should be able to help all your questions and needs
