I'm about to start the bodywork on my MkII. I've done a lot of full restos before, but never a Mini - does anyone have suggestions as to what order to do this in? I'm planning to replace full floors and sills (I have M Machine panels with sills already attached), heelboard, full boot floor, full rear wheelarches (probably), rear quarters, doorsteps, flitch panels, inner and outer 'A' posts, front wings. Basically the whole bottom of the car, as necessary. I had planned to start with the floor and sills, keeping the round tunnel, and moving outwards - would I be better to start at one end (the rear) and work along, or should I get the centre structure sound first?

Thanks,

Roger

your probably best off doing one side at a time, for instance don't cut off both sills and floors at same time as it will be a pain to fit the new ones. Do one sill and floor at the same time also in the process bracing the car for extra strength so it doesn't go out of shape just to make sure!
