New boot floor repair, boot hinge panel and Valence.
Previously I fitted one of those classic shape chrome red rear fog light.
I havent the heart to drill the holes in the valence to re mount the fog light, and have been looking for something a bit less boring. I was even looking for an LED one like some of the jap imports are fitted with when they are UK MOT'd
But i have searched high and low on tinternet and nothing. anybody seen anything and post a website.
dont mind what it looks like as long as it is funky (and Legal)

Hence it had Mk2 style lights with no reverse. I have kept them on the car as it has a Mk1 grille and 10" wheels, so I am going for a retro (ish) look
I have to say I was tempted to convert to later rear lights, and do exactly what you guys have suggested but I sold all the spare ones I had.
Any other suggestions welcome.
you can wire the fog light wire into the offside reverse bulb and obviously change it red.

i had mine mounted into my reversing light. always passed an mot, as long as it shone red or worked on the day of the mot!
Technically this is illegal, there must be a minimum of 100mm between brake and fog lamps... Clicky.
However this is not checked during an MOT and would only be noticed during foggy conditions by a clued up police man.

It says in the blurb that your car is an '80. What is the date of registration? If it's before the 1st of April '80 then you are not required by law to fit a rear fog lamp and any that you do fit will be classed as optional lamps with very loose restrictions on what you can do. You will be limited to simply a red lamp, pointing backwards that is not connected to the brake circuit, beyond that everything is up to you. If it was registered on the 1st of April or later then you have to comply with all the regs and may only use an approved lamp.

Nevertheless Kerrin did ask for a legal solution!

Cheers Dan.
unfortunately the car was origionally X reg oct 81, so the above wont apply.
Luckily on the isle of man we have a rolling 25 year old free tax so it costs me £5 a year to tax it.
Anyway back to the subject, I think I will put the chrome one back on now as it suits the car. I just wanted to have a final think before I drilled the new vallence!!!!

I've got a couple going spare here (the rear valance on my estate is different so they won't fit). I'll try and find a picture of one fitted to a previous car.

Fiesta fog lights fit the profile of a saloon rear valance exactly. You will still have to drill the rear valance but they fit flush and don't hang down.

Cheers for that, a good idea. A pic would be great.
