Newbie here - a freshly graduated welsh engineer working out in california...
Need to join in the one-upmanship at work (THE boss has an insight and a souped up VW bug based dune buggy, the #2 runs around in a TR6 and a multitude of crazy boats, my immediate boss has an old school bus kitted out with roofdeck/bar/disco lights/sound system/bunks, the electronics guru is busy nailing together an electric (640kW...) Diablo and the 'works hack' is an old fire truck...)
Figured a sleeper of a mini would be ideal - spaceframed, bike-engined, glass shelled, and as innocent looking as possible!
Not hugely keen on the existing kits (z-cars and the likes) - they're perfect from a practicality/fabrication/business standpoint (easy, inexpensive) but leave a lot to be desired in terms of engineering - and fancy fabbing my own anyways.

Previous motor - 1972 Land-Rover built from the ground-up, standard looking but with a 2.0 Turbo 16v motor boosted to it's eyeballs from a Rover Tomcat slotted in. Cage, harnesses, memory electric heated leather seats and no roof. Great fun, but chewed rear axle shafts, differentials and gearboxes - and had an attraction to ditches!
