stupidly i tried to touch up a little bit of rust around my minis headlight putting on some of the paint the guy gave me when i bought him

however as its metallic paint it looks horrendous it's only a small bit like smaller than a 10p but because its new paint it stands out a mile

is there anything i could use to dull it down a bit? would tcut be any good?

you wont really be able to dull it down a bit, but maybe try brightening up the area with some cutting compound? It will 'age' eventually. depends if you can live with it or not.

You could scotchbrite it down a bit, that would make it matt, or at least it will if it's been lacquered over. You say it's metallic so it might be matt already. Could just polish up the area around it, and get a touch up from halfrauds in the right colour.
