I think it would seriously affect your ability to move your head around...checking blind spots etc would become very difficult.

And if you had a fast loud Mini the Police might think you were about to go speeding. Im sure you would get pulled over.

I have to admit my first thoughts were of The Stig. He is so funny when in public and still doesn't talk.

totaly dependent on what kind of helmet, alot helmets for enclosed cabin use have a wide vision design, allowing the driver to look around at where there going as for side vision, I can see perfectly fine with mine, its an open jobbie. Interior use full helmets again have wide vision design but not as good, where vision difficulties come is the open cabin use ones, say for an open top car, like caterham, they have visors. They have much the same design as motorbike helmets there restricted for there design due to the visor meaning the side by eye sockets can be "back cut" or wha ever you want to call it

example one: link shows open face you can see by where your eyes are it recesses back allowing to see sideways (also thats my helmet)
example two: link shows full faced, not as good are to see out of
example three: link Shows full faces open cabin helmet, can see from the side on the difference between the open faced jobbie

aaaanywho buddy...do as you please

I was told once by someone that worked for COMMA car oils that when he used the company Caterham R500(no windscreen, just a fly shield) for the Caterham Rumble (or what ever its called) he wasnt alowed to where a helmet due to road law.

but i dont know for sure.

I done this down my local high street the other week, was dead funny! Sitting in a traffic jam in the hot weather, window down and was going home time for all the school kids.

Remember... Safety first! Or maybe thats just with my driving.... >_< :gimme:

Seriously though...I've never heard it's not allowed, but then I guess it's not the kind of question that most people tend to ask!
Think it'd look pretty cool though, especially in the right car i.e. Trackday/road car with Roll cage, Numbers on the side etc. :gimme:

And its not like i have to make up for a small willy, i just have a very broad sense of humour... Obviosly some dont...

And i also know that it would probs make it harder for me to drive... But its just something that i now need to accomplish as part of my life long goals!

Thanks for the replies guys >_<

Yes yes we all see the funny side but at the same time make sure your car is 100% mint because if you do get pulled, ye it may not be illegal but the copper might think its more funny to pull your car apart for problems. Just remember they dont like you getting one over on them so they will get there own back in some way.

If a full roll cage is used, it can be a bit dangerous without a helmet... so wearing one might not be such a bad idea!

Visibility is still good with a helmet, we all have to do it on the track, where you need good visibility!
