As far as I know, all vans were made with MK1 doors (exterior hinges)... 
The only things that changed were the saloons and estates.....

Yep Amy is correct, Commercials were external hinges, although some people did do their own conversions

Mini countryman and traveller with external door hinges were discontiued in 1969 and replaced with the mini clubman estate which had Mk 3 type internal door hinges.
The vans and pickups used Mk 1 / 2 external hinges to the end.

Mk1 doors are the creation of the devil... Mine have been a right PITA to build up and fit. Thats with all new parts as well.

Read all the above, but when did the saloon lose its external door hinges? Asked my husband and he told me to get a life.
