People make their own destiny. In the small amount of time everyone is here you need to make the most of it, life is too short. If you're unhappy change it, if your unhappy that your single then you need to be happy being single before you will find anyone.

That really is the best advise!

I've had a bad time recently (well the last year and a half actually), I almost became a total recluse at 1 point. The only time I would leave the house was to go to work and the off-license. I was drinkin' a litre or more of vodka or Jack D a night because i was depressed. I lost a lot of mates because of silly things or they didn't want to know because i was so down (including my 'best' mate).

I'm not going to go into the things that caused it all because this isn't the place, In the end I only had 1 person left who stuck by me no matter what carp i put them through. I still haven't got my friends I had back but I'm making new 1's and that 1 person that stuck by me is the most important person in my life right now.

But... at the end of it all I was the 1 making things worse and I am the person who has had to sort my problems out. My life is completely different now and it's looking better although I have seem to develop a bit of a drink problem after the last year but again the only person who can sort it out is MYSELF and that's what I intend to do! =D

good luck

you're right the only person that can help yourself is you. i learnt that myself the hard way i got myself in a pretty bad way a while ago i've been there with the alcohol and depression and it isn't a nice place to be but if you don't believe in yourself no one can

you're lucky to have a friend like that it's when times get bad you realise who your real friends are!

Try the Allan Carr book on alcohol. (http://tinyurl.com/4bbbaa) --- the American Allan Carr, not the camp comedian!
Best 6.99 my wife ever spent. It just appeared on the bedside table.
I ignored for a while and then picked it up. Couldn't put it down.
No more drink problems for me. Job done.
And now I face my problems rather that trying to hide.

All the best.
My 2p.
