Hi,
I have had a look around this section of the forum to try and find advice on what sort of paint to use to respray a new bonnet I have bought. There seems to be a lot of different types of paint and I am not sure which one is best to use? At the moment my mini still has its original British racing green metallic paint on it and this is the way I wish it to stay. Please can someone tell me which paint is best to use and where is best to get it? I have an airline and spray gun at my disposal!

Thanks

If it's a home job, then I would guess cellulose, or if you have the safety equipment, try and source some 2K. Bear in mind with cellulose you can't really get a finish as good as the factory, so it may look a little out of place. A bodyshop would probably charge about £60 to spray a bonnet professionally, it may be worth thinking about.

what about using a polyester basecoat, topped with 1k clear, or autosafe 2k clear (isocyanate free)?

Cheers, thanks for the advice I will give cellulose paint a try and see how good I can get the finish
