Well i suppose its my time to start a project thread as i havnt got one on here yet
Well my mini life started on the 12 of November 2007 when i purchased 'the silver surfer'

About a week after i got the car i found i had a hole gradually getting bigger so i then changed that to a lcb with a maniflow side exit exhaust
I then found my first trip to ace cafe very uncomfortable so out came the seats and i purchased the front classic bucket seats which are now fitted to the car and i find are quite comfy on long and short journeys
Then bingley came i went to the show and ended up buying a set of wheels for 'the silver surfer' which are the dunlops and had the yoko 008 tyres fitted to them

probably the best picture i have of the wheels on the car and this is where its now
A few arty shots aswell ..

well im currently rebuilding an engine keeping it 1 litre but going for pure acceleration, after that ill be getting a new boot for it as this one has got a dent in it bloomin range rovers! and a few modifications as i go along and keeping the thing running definately sticking to the drums for now i think theyre strong enough ive driven a disc brake front one and didnt like it at all, it ditches to much on the front end although i would like the stopping power

Thought a little update wouldnt go a miss ive finally finished my dash tried to keep it subtle and not have to many guages it looks quite effective and i think suits the car pretty well

I finally got round to my engine and have just fitted the central oil pick up and checked what diff was in the engine orginally and decided to keep with that, found their is quite an easy way of doing the central oil pick up whilst not following the instructions given

:dozing: Holy Thread Revival :dozing:

Well obviously this thread has not been updated in about a year :dozing: but as some of you may know this has been off the road for quite a while, while i was driving round in the miglia engined purple machine then fixed the silver one put that back on the road drove that round then pulled it off the road again for a full front end rebuild and paint up to keep rust at bay well this has happened over a period of about 3 months as i lost my job back at the start of the year so ive been taking it bit by bit and now im going turbo so.... ill get their slowly but lots of pictures
heres the work i have done in the past 3 months (could have done alot more really just like to spend a bit of time making everything nice)
Removal and start of the project

Posted Image

Test fit of the gearbox and mounts so i could line up and drill hole for the front engine steady for gearbox as this was ripped off on the subframe (subframe was also painted in hammerite at this stage)

Posted Image

The bottom of the block being tapped to 5/16 so i can run bigger bolts as the gearbox was already drilled for this

Posted Image

Bolting the gearbox to the bottom of the block

Posted Image

Half of engine bay stripped of paint and painted in grey :D

Posted Image

I then removed all the wires and re rooted all the wiring into the wing down the front and then back into the front valence so their is minimal wiring in the engine bay, painted the brake cylinder, clutch cylinder, the plate that these mount onto and the engine steady and water hole mount the other side as well as the wiper motor , i have also hidden the water pipe going from the washer bottle

Posted Image

I wasnt really happy with the subframe being in hammerite yellow so me and samozzie took my subframe to the sandblasters and blasted and had it prime then went to the paint factors and picked up some inka yellow and sprayed the subframe, whilst the subframe was at the sandblasters i painted my top arms black and then re assembled with hi lo's

Posted Image

I then mounted up the subframe with alloy subframe mounts started to put the brake lines back in and this is basically the stage i am at now i have also painted the rear wheel arches and all the sills and underneat the bumpers black to give the car a better look :w00t:

A few more of interior i wired in megajolt into the car and positioned out of the way but still easily accesible to get the computer attached

Posted Image

Although i dont smoke myself, i put a ciggarette lighter in so that i could power my phone charger e.t.c

Posted Image

I then looked at the stalks i have never seen someone use non orignal stalks although these could be made better i thought they looked reasonable so left them seen as they took me a while to make, i havent got anymore pictures yet of the steering wheel fitted and all the extra wiring ive had to do to get rid of the original stalks but it wasnt hard at all
