I have been informed of a car that is coming up for sale from a decesed estate.

It is a toltally original MINI HL w reg 1981 which is in timewarp untouched condition. It is in a deep red colour.
I have been asked to assist with it's sale due to my mini enthusiasium but I am struggling to determin it's value.

Any comments and discussion welcomed.

Not seen it for a while but it was very tidy then and it has always been used as a fine weather sunday car and always garaged.
mileage is between 30 - 40 k.
Probably MOTed but a fresh one could be done I'm sure.

Sorry for the vagueness but I will see it and check it out soon.

Looks like a genuine car.

Doesn't look too cherished though?

This car still sits on original 10's and is a very tidy car.

depends if someone happens to want a solid original car at the time. As a very rough guide, this time last year I bought Oscar, very tidy (not quite a minter, but very original and all there) '81 city, 70k. that was for £600 (not quite a city anymore, MG power with Cooper S's, and a new interior..).

Nice with the engine and brakes upgrade . What colour is it?

All the sub £1000 mini I've seen for sale have been mainly non original and rough in places?

I got my mini advantage a year ago. Paid £1450 for it, 28K on the clock, very good condition (slight dent in boot and small patch of rust on drivers door), but completely original, original radio, interior, wheels. Think the only things that had been changed were the bumpers and wheel arches.

yep it is great! its vermillion red. I think it all depends on whos looking at the time, I think the original cars left now are mainly either rough or very very mint, so prices reflect this.

That looks in nice condition and probably simular to the one I am talking about but that sits on 10's.

My 1990 city has got the same sort of mileage and has been garaged most of it's life and has never seen a welders torch. I didn't have an amount to go on for my agreed value classic policy ( I was given the car) but the insurance company didn't quibble at £1500 so I suspect it's worth at least that.
