    One Carb Or Two?

Ok the wiring diagram isn't too clear or maybe it is and I'm just being dumb but I need to attach the red wire to VDD but whats VDD? Is it permanent live? Also is "Clock Power" Permanent live and "Switch Key" Ignition live?

Also on the mini wiring side of things is the green wire with black strip the wire for the petrol gauge?

Cheers for any help

The green/black wire is indeed the one that runs from the fuel sending unit to the front of the car.

Vdd is probably an electrical engineer's way of calling for 12V but the question is... switched or unswitched. Terms like that are routinely applied to the individual chips that go into more complicated circuits. Once you leave the world of Lucas wiring, red is typically used for +12V wires while black is for earth/ground.

Clock power (if it really is powering a clock) will certainly be a permanent live supply. Switch key... without seeing the term in context it's hard to say what they meant. However, I think you're correct that this would be for a power source that's only on when the engine is running.

Cheers I had a look on google but theres not that much info but VDD is the power source for the warning lights I think (hard to tell because it was a translated page) so will try switched live first. Thanks for the rest, I don't suppose any one knows what wire is for the oil warning light?

White/brown, or look at the pressure switch end.

got a link to the docs you found online?

Found a Uk site that claims the fuel sensor is 100ohms (switchable on one model).

It was just a forum where I found the VDD info, got most of it wired up now. Well not done the speed sensor, fuel meter, rev counter yet but will try and sort the speed sensor today and rev counter. On my wiring diagram theres a 100ohm resistor so I'm guessing I'm gonna have to put that in the wiring myself but couldn't find a resistor today.

The resistor is most likely the fuel sender unit, which is only a variable resistor. I think there was a thread a while back... you might have to add a resistor to get the mini sender unit to operate in the right range but you can just wire it up and see what happens. Another TMF thread showed a very neat speed sensor installed in a rear brake.

Well that sorts that problem out then will wire fuel sender up and see how I go, yeah thats how I was planning on doing the speed sensor but somebody else said that it wasn't ideal so thinking of doing it and seeing how it goes or try something else like gluing a magnet to the pot joint or something.
